The Inn At Bay Fortune Wins Internationally Coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for Its Wine List and Wine Program 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011and again for 2012.
The Wine Spectator, the world's most important wine publication with an international readership of over 2 million wine and food enthusiasts, has just awarded PEI's The Inn At Bay Fortune its prestigious Award of Excellence for the Inn's wine list and overall wine program. The Inn At Bay Fortune is PEI's first restaurant to receive this award and one of only three now on Prince Edward Island to receive this designation and one of 254 establishments in all of Canada to be honoured. The Inn At Bay Fortune is one of only a handful of restaurants in Atlantic Canada to have garnered both a Wine Spectator Award and an exclusive Four Diamond Award from the American Automobile Association (AAA).
Jean-Sébastien Morin, formerly The Inn At Bay Fortune's sommelier, worked for three years to establish a world-class wine program. "I am pleased to have made a contribution to the enhancement of PEI's wine culture," Morin said upon receiving news of the award. He also added "that developing an eclectic, well-rounded and approachable list showcasing over 200 different wines from the four corners of the wine world was made possible in great part by innovative measures put in place by the PEI Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC) in recent years." Jean-Sébastien did such a good job he was hired by the PEILCC to run their wine program where he is three years into improvements to the wines available on PEI.

"is very pleased to see The Inn At Bay Fortune receive this prestigious award from such a prominent player in the world wine and food industry. We always knew that we have a well rounded wine portfolio and more wines per capita than any other province in Canada and are proud to have supported the Inn at Bay Fortune in this achievement with our Annual Wine Fest and opening of Vines - a premium wine boutique and working with our licensees with special orders."
David Wilmer, The Inn At Bay Fortune's Innkeeper, indicated for his part that "we always knew that our wine list was one of the best on the Island and this Wine Spectator Award is a statement that in the eyes of the experts, we really do have the best wine list available on PEI and that it is world class. It is an honour for the Inn and all of PEI to recognize that we can deliver food and wine that really puts us on the map with food and wine enthusiasts from around the world."
